Simply the Best !! A Modern Wittywings A380!!
As usual the wait for Av400s is a year on almost from pre-order launch of thereabouts,though the wait is always worthwhile when it comes to Av400!
I have been after this livery on a A380 for years as i wanted something as good as the Apollo /WiityWings versions that turn up from time to time on ebay but for silly prices or damaged,now hardly ever see any A380s for that brand on ebay and the likes as most have got them and are keeping them or damaged/destroyed.
So many were awaiting the releases from Av400 on their new A380 mould! They released with 8 liveries from specific airlines and i bought 3 & 2 that have been taken down from on here but the review counts towards them as well!
At the same moment the other brands did like for like matching livery releases from Phoenix and JCW to try and stop their sales i guess,failed as a many on forums were waiting for the Av400s and also this segment is now saturated from the past as many have now acquired the models they wanted from previous brands like Gemini ,WiityWings/Apollo,Phoenix,Herpa and JCW! For the last decade or so Phoenix has been considered the best mould of the lot but lacked the overall finish of JCW quality on that particular model aircraft type! JCW was alot heavier and felt its money whilst Phoenix very light and hollow magnesium ,great mould but felt cheap?
Anyways those who were looking to fill liveries missing from their fleet collection or replace old with new or indeed new collectors had their chance! Funny enough its seems from this batch of releases Qatar has been the fastest seller and most popular livery?? I think this is because seldom its been done this livery? Gemini has flooded the market with Emirates!! Like to see AV400 do an Emirates livery but i do not believe they have ever done their livery on any model aircraft type to date!
So to this model and the others,they are all created beautifully! Shame no foam cradle like Witty use to do ,made it more an event but the cradle is good and they have used foam in places for wings protection! Alas,their box art has improved for those who care! Av400 are not always that good with that at all but their models i suppose do the talking!
Overall best A380s out their now at this scale and the heir to the A380 crown from Wittywings/Apollo!
Brillant job Av400! Also the 1:200 scale use of magnetic gears/tyres being detachable on magnets,another first at this 1:400 scale for any model aircraft too my knowledge and on any A380 same scale.
10/10 from me and i would say these are the models of 2023 so far!
Box art has improved also for those who care!
Shame no foam cradle or the event Witty gave but the models do the talking from Av400!
