This Corgi AA32804 release is a Corgi Collectors Club Exclusive (2002) featuring the DH Mosquito B Mk IV in its rare BOAC (British Overseas Airways Corporation) markings.
During the Second World War, BOAC operated a small number of Mosquitos on high-risk, high-speed courier missions, including flights to neutral Sweden. Stripped of armament and painted in simple civilian markings, these aircraft were used to transport diplomatic mail, essential cargo and occasionally VIP passengers at speeds too fast for German fighters to reliably intercept.
Corgi’s 1:72 die-cast model captures the unusual civilian scheme, featuring:
- Smooth, unarmed bomber nose
- BOAC civil registration markings
- Wartime grey/green camouflage
- Anti-glare panel and accurate glazing
Issued exclusively to Aviation Archive Collectors Club members, this model was produced in limited numbers, with this example marked as Edition No. 004, making it especially desirable for Mosquito and Corgi collectors.
