Since 2006, No. 36 Squadron has been the home of the eight C-17s operated by the RAAF. The unit is based at Amberley in the state of Queensland and together with numerous other units celebrated the 100th anniversary of the Australian Air Force in 2021. The centenary logo on the tail includes the kangaroo in the first zero, whereas the silhouette of a C-17 flies through the second zero.
