The Boeing 777X is a new family of long-range, wide-body airliners designed by Boeing. It is an upgrade to the Boeing 777 and is touted to be the world's largest and most efficient twin-engine jet . There are two variants of the 777X - the 777-8 and the 777-9.

The 777-9 is the larger of the two variants and is designed to carry up to 426 passengers in a typical two-class configuration. It has a range of up to 7,285 nautical miles (13,500 km), which is 250 nautical miles (460 km) farther than the Boeing 777-300ER that it replaces. The 777-9 is stretched by 3 extra seat rows compared to the 777-300ER.

The 777X features new breakthroughs in aerodynamics and engines, which is expected to deliver 10 percent lower fuel use and emissions and 10 percent lower operating costs than its competitor, the Airbus A350. The 777X also boasts a spacious and comfortable cabin, which is 16 inches wider than the competition. The cabin also features new customizable architecture and comfort innovations from the 787 Dreamliner.

The first flight of the 777X took place in January 2020, but the program has faced delays. As of May 2024, launch customer Lufthansa is expecting its first deliveries in 2026.
