Pre-loved model in original box and in perfect condition, with no faults — an ideal addition to your collection. This example has been acquired from a collector who is thoughtfully downsizing, giving it the chance to land in a new display cabinet where it can be properly appreciated.
The Gemini Jets 1/400 scale BKS Hawker Siddeley Trident 1E (registration G-AVYD) represents an early and rather rare chapter in Trident history.
The Trident 1E was an improved version of the original Trident 1C, featuring a higher maximum take-off weight and more powerful Rolls-Royce Spey engines, giving it better range and payload capability. Like all Tridents, it carried its three engines neatly tucked into the rear fuselage beneath a high T-tail. This layout gave it both aerodynamic efficiency and a very distinctive silhouette.
G-AVYD flew with BKS Air Transport, one of the independent British airlines that later merged into Northeast Airlines and, through a series of mergers, eventually became British Airways. Seeing a Trident in BKS colours is unusual, as most people associate the type with BEA and later British Airways. That makes this particular aircraft a slightly more niche and interesting collector’s subject.
Gemini Jets’ 1/400 die-cast model captures the classic early-1970s BKS livery and the clean, compact lines of the Trident 1E, offering collectors a distinctive variation of one of Britain’s most characterful jetliners.
