In 1979, the original L-1011-500, registration N751DA, was the first of three aircraft of this type ordered by Delta to expand its long-haul network. Shortly afterwards, Delta acquired four additional L-1011s from Pan Am, marking the beginning of a ten-year process that would ultimately see Delta Air Lines take over the legendary carrier.

The Lockheed L-1011 TriStar remains one of the most distinctive widebody aircraft of its era, making this an excellent addition for collectors of classic US airlines and historic long-haul jets.
