The Aeroclassics British Airways Boeing 707-300 G-AWHU “BOAC” is a collectable 1/400 scale diecast model of a classic long-haul British jetliner. This model represents aircraft G-AWHU, a Boeing 707 originally delivered to BOAC – British Overseas Airways Corporation, before later operating with British Airways after the airline merger era.

The real aircraft, G-AWHU, is recorded as a Boeing 707-379C, construction number 19821, line number 718. PlaneLogger lists its first flight as 29 May 1968, delivery to BOAC on 27 June 1968, and transfer into British Airways service from 1 April 1974.

This aircraft has a strong British aviation heritage appeal because it links three important collector themes: the Boeing 707 jet age, the BOAC long-haul era, and the early years of British Airways. Aviation photo records show G-AWHU later wearing British Airways’ Negus-era colours with “British” titles, while its delivery history confirms its original BOAC connection.

Produced by Aeroclassics, this 1/400 release is ideal for collectors of British Airways, BOAC, Boeing 707 aircraft, classic jetliners, Heathrow-era long-haul aircraft and vintage airline liveries. The Boeing 707’s narrow fuselage, swept wings and four-engine layout make it one of the defining aircraft shapes of the early intercontinental jet age.

Collector Notes

This model represents Boeing 707-379C G-AWHU, an aircraft with direct BOAC and British Airways history. That makes it a strong subject for collectors who focus on the transition from BOAC to British Airways, classic UK long-haul operations, and early wide-body-era jetliners before the Boeing 747 became dominant.

For collectors, this Aeroclassics model pairs well with BOAC VC10s, British Airways Tristars, early BA 747s, Comets, BAC One-Elevens and other classic Heathrow subjects. It is also a useful addition to any 1/400 display focused on intercontinental aviation in the 1960s and 1970s.
