This Westland Lynx AH.1 XZ666 represents one of the early production Army Air Corps helicopters operated by 655 Squadron, known as “The Scottish Horse.” The model includes fine rotor detailing, accurate camouflage colours, and markings reflecting the aircraft’s operational service during the Cold War era.
The Westland Lynx AH.1 was a highly versatile British-built helicopter used by both the Army Air Corps and Royal Navy. Introduced in the late 1970s, it was capable of reconnaissance, anti-tank, and transport missions. XZ666 served with 655 Squadron, part of the 1st Regiment Army Air Corps, where the Lynx proved its agility and reliability in Europe and the UK. The Lynx became one of Britain’s most successful rotary-wing designs, remembered for its performance and distinctive profile.
