Detailed Description

This Corgi 48103 release represents the Boeing C-97G Stratofreighter as flown by the Delaware Air National Guard, one of the U.S. Air Force’s key post-war transport units.

Derived from the B-29/B-50 bomber family, the C-97 combined a double-deck fuselage with powerful four-engine performance, enabling long-range troop and cargo transport during the 1950s and 1960s.

The Delaware ANG operated the C-97 from New Castle Air Base, supporting global airlift missions and humanitarian operations. The aircraft’s polished-metal finish with USAF titles and ANG tail markings is faithfully reproduced by Corgi.
