This Corgi Aviation Archive model recreates the North American P-51D Mustang 44-14896/G4-C, the famous “Nooky Booky III” flown by Captain Leonard “Kit” Carson during the Second World War.
Carson served with the 362nd Fighter Squadron, 357th Fighter Group, US Eighth Air Force, operating from RAF Leiston in Suffolk. He named each of his personal Mustangs “Nooky Booky” and became the highest-scoring pilot of the 357th Fighter Group.
“Nooky Booky III” was allocated to Carson in 1944 and carried the squadron code G4-C. Carson finished the war credited with 18.5 aerial victories, along with an additional 3.5 enemy aircraft destroyed during ground attacks.
Produced as part of Corgi’s Aviation Archive WWII Legends Collection, this 1:72 scale model features die-cast construction, an authentic camouflage scheme, accurately reproduced USAAF markings and the distinctive “Nooky Booky III” nose inscription. A display stand is included for an in-flight presentation.
