History

“Delivered new to United Airlines in 1966 as N7410U, this versatile Boeing 727-22C later found its perfect role in Alaska, serving Reeve Aleutian Airways as N832RV on demanding passenger and cargo services across the Aleutian Islands.”

N832RV remained associated with Reeve for the rest of the airline's existence and was still in its fleet when operations ended in December 2000. It subsequently became S9-BAR with Air Gemini, where it was used on operations for the United Nations — a remarkable second career for an aircraft that had started life with United Airlines more than three decades earlier.

Reeve Aleutian Airways became famous for operating challenging routes across Alaska and the Aleutian Islands, where aircraft often had to carry a mixture of passengers, mail and freight. The convertible 727-22C was particularly well suited to this type of operation thanks to its flexible passenger and cargo configuration.

The classic Reeve Aleutian Airways colour scheme makes this an especially distinctive Boeing 727 model and an excellent addition to any collection of Alaskan, American or classic jetliners.
