Representing an important stage in the development of airborne early-warning aviation, this InFlight 200 model recreates the second United States Air Force Boeing EC-137D prototype, serial 71-1407, as it appeared in 1972.

The EC-137D was developed from the Boeing 707 and used to evaluate competing radar systems for the USAF’s new Airborne Warning and Control System programme. Its distinctive feature was the large rotating radar dome mounted above the rear fuselage. The testing undertaken by the two EC-137D prototypes contributed directly to the development of the operational Boeing E-3 Sentry.

This collectable model features the aircraft’s polished metal finish, period United States Air Force markings and unmistakable radar installation. Manufactured primarily from metal in 1/200 scale, it is supplied with a display stand for an impressive presentation.
