Aircraft History

The specially developed Airbus A350-1000ULR forms the centrepiece of Qantas Project Sunrise. The aircraft is being designed for ultra-long-range services, including planned non-stop flights connecting Sydney with London and New York.

F-WULR is an Airbus test registration used during the aircraft’s development and certification programme. The modified A350-1000ULR includes additional fuel capacity and other changes intended to support flights of up to approximately 22 hours.

Qantas has ordered 12 A350-1000ULR aircraft, which will feature a low-density 238-seat cabin including First Class, Business Class, Premium Economy, Economy and a dedicated Wellbeing Zone.
