This collectable model represents the British Midland Airways Canadair C-4 Argonaut, registration G-ALHS, named "Astra".

Powered by four Rolls-Royce Merlin engines, the Argonaut was a Canadian-built development of the Douglas DC-4. G-ALHS began its career with BOAC before later serving with Derby Airways, which became British Midland Airways in 1964.

The model captures an important aircraft from British Midland's early history and will appeal to collectors of classic British airlines, post-war airliners, and Merlin-powered aircraft.
