A detailed Falcon Models North American F-86D Sabre Dog representing aircraft FU-160 of the 75th Fighter Interceptor Squadron, 519th Air Defence Group, United States Air Force.

Based at Suffolk County Air Force Base, New York, in August 1953, the aircraft wore the colourful markings of the 75th FIS “Tiger Sharks”.

Developed as an all-weather interceptor, the F-86D was distinguished from earlier Sabres by its enlarged radar nose, afterburning engine and retractable tray containing 24 Mighty Mouse air-to-air rockets. The radar and fire-control system allowed a single pilot to locate and attack enemy bombers in poor weather or at night.

This 1/72-scale Wings of Fame model is supplied pre-assembled and features diecast construction, an opening canopy, an interchangeable undercarriage, and detachable external fuel tanks.
