Produced in 1:72 scale, the collection brings together three famous aircraft representing the RAF and Luftwaffe during the Blitz of 1940–41:

• Heinkel He 111H-3 – 2. Staffel, KG 100, 1940–41
• Messerschmitt Bf 109E – JG 51, flown by Luftwaffe ace Heinz Bär, 1940 The 
• Supermarine Spitfire is now AA31901, not the one that came with the set.

The Heinkel belonged to KG 100, one of the Luftwaffe’s specialist pathfinder units. Operating from Vannes-Meucon in France, the unit used the Knickebein radio-navigation system to guide night bombing missions over Britain.

Providing fighter protection is the Messerschmitt Bf 109E of JG 51, associated with celebrated German fighter pilot Heinz Bär. Representing the RAF is Spitfire Mk I X4253 of No. 611 Squadron, based at Rochford in Essex during December 1940.

Manufactured primarily from die-cast metal with finely moulded components, the models feature authentic camouflage, detailed markings, realistic panel lines and display stands. This certificated release was limited to only 2,700 sets worldwide, making it an especially desirable addition to a Corgi Aviation Archive collection.
