A highly detailed 1/72 scale diecast model of the General Motors FM-2 Wildcat “Mah Baby”, flown by Lieutenant Bruce Allen McGraw of Composite Squadron VC-10 from the escort carrier USS Gambier Bay during October 1944.
Finished as aircraft White B6, this Dragon Warbirds model recreates one of the rugged carrier fighters that served with the United States Navy in the Pacific theatre during the Second World War. The FM-2 was an improved Wildcat variant manufactured by General Motors’ Eastern Aircraft Division, featuring a more powerful engine and enlarged vertical tail.
The model features engraved panel lines, a detailed cockpit, an opening or closed canopy option, movable flight-control surfaces and a rotating propeller. It can be displayed with its landing gear lowered or in flight using the included display stand. Some small components may require fitting.
An increasingly difficult-to-find Dragon Warbirds release and an excellent addition to any collection of US Navy, carrier aviation or Second World War aircraft.
