Aircraft History:
Originally delivered to Singapore Airlines as 9V-SDE in August 1979, the aircraft had a relatively short initial service before transferring to Varig (PP-VMZ) just seven months later, where it remained until January 1992.
In April 1992, it joined World Airways (N114WA), including a brief lease to Garuda Indonesia, before moving to Biman Bangladesh Airlines (S2-ADA) in July 1993.
By January 1994, the aircraft was converted into a freighter and later operated as N524MD with Aeroflot Cargo. It eventually joined Arrow Air in November 2004, where it continued its cargo operations until withdrawal in June 2010. The aircraft was ferried to Miami (OPF) and was ultimately scrapped in May 2012.
Why This Model Stands Out:
With its extensive multi-airline history and conversion from passenger aircraft to freighter, this DC-10 represents the full lifecycle of a classic widebody aircraft. Combined with the iconic Arrow Air cargo livery, this model is particularly appealing to collectors interested in aviation history and freighter operations.
